Hamas and Palestinian Authority Join Forces
Hamas and the PA recently announced that they are joining forces in their efforts to create a more united Palestinian leadership. Israel and America immidiately expressed concern over the move and Israel declared an end to the peace negotiations. They refuse to negotiate with Hamas, a known terrorist organization, and thus will not negotiate with the new united Palestinian governing body.
On campus and possibly in the media you will see anti-Israel activists blaming Israel for the end of the peace negotiations. Placing blame on Israel for refusing to negotiate with an entity that just united itself with a known terrorist organization is absurd.
When confronted with this, simply point out that no western country negotiates with known terrorists and that if the new Palestinian entity is serious about making peace, they will have to publicly denounce terrorism, begin to promote co-existence in Pallestinian schools, and acknowledge Israel’s right to exist as the homeland of the Jewish people.
