Israel helped develop African countries– Beginning in 1958, Israel sent advisers, scientists, and technicians to Ghana to help teach the Ghanaians better irrigation techniques. Other countries saw the benefits of Israel’s teachings and requested help. Throughout the 1960’s, Israel helped Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, The Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Upper Volta with their agriculture and medical fields.

Israel took in Vietnamese boat people- In 1977, an Israeli cargo ship spotted a leaking boat with 66 Vietnamese people trying to escape war. Israel immediately gave these men, women, and children “permanent admission” to the state of Israel.

Israel helped put out a deadly fire in Turkey- In 1997, a fire broke out in one of Turkey’s arms factories. The IDF sent helicopters and successfully extinguished the deadly fire.
