Hamas Executes 21 Suspected “Collaborators”

Hamas executed 21 Gazans on Thursday and Friday for allegedly collaborating with Israel. They were killed in three waves in a campaign codenamed “Strangling Necks”. According to The Guardian, “three were killed on Thursday, 11 at a disused police station early on Friday, and another seven shot dead in public outside a mosque in Gaza City shortly after noon prayers.”

None of these 21 people received due process. Hamas accused them of a crime and executed them without a jury or proper judge. This round of executions came after Israel assassinated three top Hamas officials. Hamas believes that Israel received information about the whereabouts of the officials from Gazans and decided to take action.

Hamas rules Gaza with an authoritarian fist and allows no room for human rights or liberty. Since operation Protective Edge began on July 8, Hamas has executed at least 51 people. These 51 possibly innocent human beings did not receive due process or justice. Palestinians, like all people on earth, are born with certain unalienable rights. These rights include the right to live in a free society with due process of law. Defeating Hamas is imperative to the survival of the Palestinian people and the rights of people all over the world.
