Last Tuesday, the IDF killed Marwan Kawasme, 29, and Amer Abu Aysha, 32, in a raid on a Hebron basement hideout. They were two of the suspects involved in the murders of Eyal Yifrah, Gilad Shaar, and Neftali Fraenkel. According to the Shin Bet, “firefights broke out while attempting to apprehend two suspects”, resulting in their deaths. Israeli forces arrested three others for involvement in the murders.

Thousands of Palestinians honored Kawasme and Abu Aysha, both Hamas terrorists, at their funeral. Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas’ spokesman in Gaza, said: “Hamas praises the role martyrs Abu Aisha and Kawasme played in chasing down Israeli settlers and we stress that their assassination will not weaken the resistance.” These “martyrs” kidnapped and brutally murdered three innocent teenagers who were on their way home from school.

According to the Oslo Accords, the Palestinian Authority must educate the Palestinians it governs to seek peace and coexistence with Israel and the Israeli people. Israel also must provide the same type of education in its efforts for peace. To achieve a stable, lasting peace, moderates on both sides need to come together and finally bring an end to the hate. Only then, will there be an end to the conflict.
