Abby Seitz is the founder and president of Students Supporting Israel at Columbia College in Chicago

Abby Seitz, a freshman at Columbia College in Chicago, grew up loving Israel. This is why she, upon discovering anti-Israel rhetoric on her campus and campuses nearby, brought pro-Israel organization Students Supporting Israel (SSI) to her university. SSI was founded by students at the University of Minnesota and has spread to twenty-six campuses across the United States. Abby discovered that anti-Israel students gather from nearby universities for their protests and she wants to be “pro-active in her efforts to defend Israel.”

Abby needs help to show the real Israel to her classmates. Though she has some excellent program ideas, Abby cannot do everything by herself. The new age of social media has the potential to unite people in a way never seen before. Because we are all together in the fight for Israel on campus, please show your support by liking Abby’s SSI Facebook page. This will hopefully demonstrate to other pro-Israel students at Columbia College in Chicago that they have a strong support team online and that they can join Abby in the battle for Israel on campus.

Aside from her dedication to the Jewish state, Abby writes as a sports and health reporter for her campus newspaper, the Columbia Chronicle. Her favorite food is tofu, and she enjoys watching 30 Rock when she is not watching her hometown Yankees.
