  1. My favorite part of Israel was when I had my Bar Mitzvah. All of my cousins from Israel came to see me read Torah at the Kotel. It was a great experience.

  2. When I think about Israel, I think about a place that has a lot of history behind it. From ancient days until 1948, when Israel got its land. I also think of how people care about each other, even if they don’t know each other. Israel is a country that is brave and kind.

  3. My favorite part of Israel is the food. I went to a small falafel place on Ben Yehudah street and it is still one of the best food I’ve ever had.

  7. My favorite experience in Israel was when my grade went to Israel and went to the Western Wall. We danced in groups from all over the world who only had one thing in common; we were Jewish. Yet we had surely a bond and were just happy to be there.

  8. On a school trip to Israel we went to the Western Wall. We all walked up to the wall quietly. Then we all put our heads against the wall and prayed, saying our own silent prayers. I looked around and I could see all my friends against the wall with their eyes closed, even the friends who usually don’t feel the presence of God in their normal lives. I was amazed to see this.

  9. Two years ago I visited Israel to celebrate my Bar Mitzvah. While at the Kotel it was amazing to realize my ancestors were doing the same thing thousands of years before.

  12. I was at the Kotel at 6 am and I saw a bird on the wall up above and I was there later at 7 pm for Shabbat services and the bird was still there. I felt as if G-d was inside the bird watching us to ensure our safety.

  14. My favorite story in Israel was that one time when the alarm went off. All the people who didn’t know one another got into the same shelter like a big family.
